LANDSCAPING FOR THESSALONIKI’S SUBMERGED TUNNEL

The study constitutes part of the adaptation of the final study of Thessaloniki’s Submerged Tunnel. It was completed for Hochtief S.A. in order to compile the construction offer to the Ministry of Public Works and concerns the design of outdoor spaces of entrance and exit points and the modulation of Nikis Avenue, which, according to the original study, becomes a pedestrian zone. The aim of the study, in line with the initial objectives, is to achieve the minimum disturbance of the existing conditions and mild interventions. Beyond Nikis Avenue, points of interest are Pedion Areos, the area of entrance and exit to Kountouriotou Street, and Megalou Alexandrou Avenue.
